Daichi Mori / Alvie Starr Creative Coder & Interactive Engineer

I operate under the name Alvie Starr, specializing in crafting interactive experiences that integrate elements such as human movement, sound, and weather data, using LED displays, projectors, sensors, and various digital tools.

During my university years, I had the privilege of studying abroad in Montreal, Canada, supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) through the Tobitate! Study Abroad Japan initiative. This program encourages Japanese students to expand their horizons and cultivate a global mindset through international study opportunities. While in Montreal, I was captivated by "Aura," an immersive light and sound show at the Notre-Dame Basilica produced by the renowned multimedia studio Moment Factory, which ignited my passion for installation art. After graduating, I further honed my skills at the program's office and later at the University of Tokyo, before embarking on an independent career in 2023.

Currently, I am actively involved in gallery exhibitions, installation design, and the strategic use of interactive content for branding, advertising, and marketing. My work also extends to creating installations for music videos, integrating interactive elements into pop-up events, and developing designs that leverage data visualization to provide meaningful insights.
